From 2015 to 2019 I studied Live Sound Technology at Husson University, where I learned not only the fundamentals of audio for production, but also became comfortable on a variety of consoles and workflows. During that time I also worked as a crew member at the UMaine Collins Center for the Arts (a large road-house in the area) in a number of positions for a variety of touring shows, from musical acts to broadway productions to theatrical performances.
After graduation, I began my current full-time job as a system designer and installer, working for a small system integrator in the Boston area specializing in performance systems (such at theaters, concert halls, and other performance venues.)
I've worked as a freelancer throughout these years whenever I have not been too busy with my other jobs, such as during summer breaks from school, or during the off-season of installs.
My main strength is a wide and deep breadth of knowledge across many different disciplines, from audio to video to lighting. I have a strong foundation in audio technologies and although I'm not as comfortable mixing a show as I once was (simply due to not having mixed many shows since I began working full time in the installation market), I would make an excellent technician on back-end systems, or device configuration and deployment, especially in complex systems where multiple areas converge, such as audio-for-video or networked, multi-console or multi-locations setups. If there is equipment that I have not used before, I am a fast learner and a hard worked, and I enjoy fixing problems to get systems up and running.
I enjoy working for teams with a good chemistry, where people know each others' names. I tend to favor smaller or more specialized teams for this reason as well, where there's collaborative environment, rather than just "doing the job for the sake of the job." Lastly, I deeply enjoy learning as much as I can about anything I can, so I find new situations and challenges stimulating.
