I love the excitement of working with clients, finding out their needs then gathering a crew to travel around the country and loading in shows, setting up everything then operating. As a video engineer I really enjoyed making everything come together, whether I was the technical director or camera op or projectionist it did not matter, it was exciting. Getting all that truss together then hanging all the lights, building the screens, setting projectors, building my camera, building the audio setup then running all that cable. Tweaking, adjusting, focusing, ringing out the room, getting everything just right. After that we would do rehearsals, get that timing just right and fix anything that needed fixing. Then it was SHOWTIME !!!! To go through a show and have it be perfect all the way to the close and know we all did a great job. Now anyone who has been there also knows that feeling, a great sense of accomplishment. Now begins loadout and until those trucks are loaded we cannot rest because the show is not closed until we are done. Many times the show goes on to the next destination and we start all of this process again in a day or two. It is not until all the gear is back at the warehouse and all of your crew is back home that everyone can sit down and relax and know that tomorrow we get to go back online or hope that phone will ring so we can schedule our next adventure.
One that enjoys working with their crew so that we iron out any imperfections and guarantee a seamless smooth show.
