Professional background

A little about me

My name’s Colin Bishop and I’ve been doing lighting since middle school and have spent time working in all areas from touring, concerts, corporate, universities, house of worship and festivals. There’s something exciting about creating excellent visual experiences for a crowd of people to enjoy their favorite music.

What am I currently doing?

Right now I am doing freelance lighting, video and audio full-time. I’m currently working with a variety of companies and touring artists based out of Nashville, TN, secondarily based out of Wilmington, DE.

Why should you hire me?

I value honesty, technical expertise, communication and a get it done attitude at the events. If the audience isn't walking away thinking that was a flawless event, we didn't do our job. I thrive in high intensity situations, solving problems on the fly, leading crews, and being able to work on any piece of tech even without having worked with it before. My clients should expect me to come in, do the job right the first time, be able to suggest considerations to help the event succede better, lead crews, and to simply to the job I'm hired for right.

My perfect client would be ...

My perfect would be one who gives me a project not only that they think I can succede in, but can always learn something new in, Whether that be a new discipline, new piece of tech, new way of doing something, new way to program lighting cues, larger crew to lead or something. They want me to come in and do the job, but also for me to do something new. I thrive on doing new things and working in new areas that grow my skillset.
